Count Your Blessings

Count Your Blessings

When your load feels heavy
And troubles have you down
Just open up your heart
And take a look around.

The large cardboard box
Your trash from yesterday
Is treasured by a homeless man
It's his shelter for today.

The choices you are faced with
And can't make up your mind
Some are out of options
With no such thing as time.

The love that just slipped away
You thought would never end
Some have never known the blessing
Of having one good friend.

The roses you had hoped for
That didn't arrive today
Were placed upon the grave site
Of a mother's newborn babe.

The prayer that you prayed
With no answer in your time
Many folks dont know the Lord
Or even seek to find.

So when your load feels heavy
And troubles have you down
Just count your many blessings
And take a look around.
