Relish the Moment

Yesterday belongs to history, tomorrow belongs to God.
Yesterday's a fading sunset, tomorrow's a faint sunrise.
Only today is there light enough to love and live.
So, gently close the door on yesterday and throw the key away.
It isn't the burdens of today that drive men and women mad,
but rather the regret over yesterday and the fear of tomorrow.

"Relish the moment" is a good motto, especial when coupled with Psalms 118:24:
"This is the day which the Lord hath made: we will rejoice and be glad in it"

So stop pacing the aisles and counting the miles. Instead,
Swim more rivers, climb more mountains, kiss more babies,
count more stars.

Laugh more and cry less.
Go barefoot more often.
Eat more ice cream.
Ride more merry-go-rounds.
Watch more sunsets.
Life must be lived as we go along.

"Take Time"

1. Take time to Work - It is the price of success.

2. Take time to Think - It is the source of power.

3. Take time to Play - It is the secret of youth.

4. Take time to Read - It is the foundation of knowledge.

5. Take time to Worship -
It is the highway of reverence and washes the dust of earth from our eyes.

6. Take time to Help and Enjoy Friends - It is the source of happiness.

7. Take time to Love - It is the one sacrament of life.

8. Take time to Dream - It hitches the soul to the stars.

9. Take time to Laugh - It is the singing that helps with life's loads.

10. Take time to Plan -
It is the secret of being able to have time to take time for the first 9 things.

After Awhile

By Veronica A. Shoffstall

After awhile, you learn the subtle difference
Between holding hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open,
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child,
And learn to build all your roads today
Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans,
And futures have a way of falling down in midflight.
And after awhile, you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you can learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong
And you really do have worth
And you learn and learn....
With every goodbye, you learn.
