Constant Reminder

Constant Reminder

I ask myself why do I doubt
His presence everyday.
He's all around me, no matter what,
in His own special way.
He painted me a picture
as I stared across the horizon.
The most beautiful thing I've ever seen,
The sun was slowly rising.

I watched the clouds
as they slowy moved in.
They were dark and strong,
reminding me of sin.
All of a sudden they opened up
and it began to rain.
I wondered if the heavens were crying
tears of anguish and pain.

Sounds of thunder were all I could hear
with lighting fiercely striking.
I felt, at that moment, the heavens
must be in constant fighting.
Was it a powerful cry
sent from God above?
Was He seeking my attention
for my faith and my love?

How God must feel
I thought right then.
To not be acknowledged
by His finest creation.
A peaceful warmth took over me,
deep inside my soul.
For across the heavens came a promise,
He painted me a rainbow.

I was walking along the beach.
A sanddollar laid in the sand.
I picked it up, to check it out,
and placed it in my hand.
I looked at it in awesome wonder.
How caring our Lord must be.
To give me a constant reminder
He's always there with me.
